Linear Mills

Linear Travel Range: 48in – 120in (1219.2mm – 3048 mm)

SPR’s precision linear mills are versatile, efficient, and designed with the end user in mind. The mills are designed with ball screws and rails in all three axis, X-Y-Z, to replace older dove tail models. Multiple spindle positions allow for a greater range of milling adjustments whether it is horizontal, vertical and/or angular. SPR linear mills provide CNC quality work whether in field, in the shop, or wherever the job takes you.

Motor options available for hydraulic or pneumatic power supply for both the cutter spindle and feed motor.

Advantages

  • Dis-engageable drive wheel (X-axis) allows the user to smoothly move the spindle/saddle assembly across the bed for quick leveling and alignment
  • Pneumatic or hydraulic variable feed allows up to 9” of travel per minute
  • Multi-position spindle option
  • Y-axis is interchangeable with large bridge or angle bracket, adding addition y-direction machining capabilities
  • Strategically placed jack bolts placed across the base for micro adjustments
  • Magnetic leveling shelf for quick read on cutter/spindle assembly
  • Various size cutting heads (6”, 8”, 10” and 12”)
  • Capable of milling on either side of rail (180° rotation)
  • Recommended 10HP Power Supply for Hydraulic Motor

Gantry Mills

Gantry Range: 4ft x 4ft – 10ft x 10ft (1219.2mm x 1219.2mm – 3048mm – 3048mm)

SPR Gantry Mills take the precision and mobility of the Linear Mills and adds additional movement in the Y-direction for increased machining area. The mills are designed with a precision ball screw and rails in all three axis, X-Y-Z, to replace older dove tail models. Multiple spindle positions and spindle motor power supplies allow for a greater range of milling adjustments whether it is horizontal, vertical and/or angular. The SPR Gantry Mill provides CNC quality work in the field, in the shop, or wherever the job takes you.

Rotary Mill

Milling Diameter Range: 32in – 66in (812.8mm – 1676.4mm)

The SPR York Rotary Milling Machine has the function to complete a wide variety of rotary machining applications. The rotational arm can be set to match a machining diameter of 32in up to 66in, plus the additional diameter of the selected fly cutter. The cutter assembly also includes 4in of travel in the Z-direction for proper alignment to the surface. Powered by a 10HP Hydraulic Power Unit, the cutter RPMs and rotation radial speeds are controlled with 2 independent hydraulic motors to best meet your applications conditions.

Advantages

  • Multiple points of connection and adjustment to the work piece allow for easy mounting and setup for machining
  • Machine can also be mounted and run upside down
  • Radial Machining Range: 32in – 66in (812.8mm – 1676.4mm)
  • 4in (101.6mm) of vertical spindle adjustment
  • Hydraulically Power Face-mill Spindle for Radial Milling Applications
  • Powered by a 10HP Hydraulic Power Unit

Exchanger Mill

Linear Travel Range: 20in – 96in (508mm – 2438.4mm)

Superior’s Exchanger Mills were built with the end user in mind. Designed to machine pass partitions and pass grooves on tube heat exchangers or other applications requiring a precision milled groove, while reducing weight and without sacrificing performance. With the lightweight design the machine allows the user to set up and align much easier than the heavier linear/fly cutting mills commonly used for exchanger applications. In turn, the job becomes easier allowing the work to be completed faster, safer, and more cost effective.

Advantages

  • Lightweight design helps eliminate lifting equipment, pinch points, and operator strain
  • Faster setup time than commonly used bulky milling machines
  • Rail design produces a smooth and precise feed operation
  • Option for Pneumatic or Hydraulic motors
  • Base feed is controlled with a variable feed valve to optimize end mill tool life and cutting efficiency
  • Every mill comes complete with all the necessary accessories needed to set up and run the mill
  • Collets for shank sizes from 3/8” thru 1” diameter in 1/8” increments provided
  • Lifting cables provided for use when needed for elevated work
